How to Know If You’re Ready for Messaging and Positioning

Today, I’m sharing one of my most important realizations in entrepreneurship:

Strategy must come first. 

This is especially true for messaging and positioning your business. Why? Because it’s your legacy. Your core from which all else emanates. In niching down and tailoring your business to you, you’re putting a stake in the ground. You’re officially committing to your direction (and to yourself!), once and for all.

But, how do you know when you’re ready? How do you know if it’s time?

01. You’re ready to own your expertise

You’ve been doing this for a while. Whether you have a formal background or a combination of unconventional experiences, you’ve come to master your craft. You’re ready to stand in your expertise and fight the imposter syndrome head-on. And that starts with acknowledging your authority and becoming your own biggest advocate.

02. You’re ready to say no.

Saying yes to your messaging and positioning – to your direction – means confidently saying no to distractions. As you commit to your vision, you’ll have to say goodbye to the pieces and parts of yourself, your brand, and your business that are no longer working for you. Parting ways is always difficult, but you need to create space to take up space.

03. You’re ready to differentiate yourself.

You’re here – with your business and brand – to make your mark. Differentiating yourself from the sea of well…DRAB…means celebrating your particular je ne sais quoi. Through this process of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and celebration, you’ll come to identify your unique viewpoints, doubling down on your own style and philosophy – with pride, excitement, and joy.

Success takes on a different meaning for every single person. The journey of self-discovery is in and of itself a success. Remember, just because something’s worked for someone else, doesn’t mean it’ll work for you…and that’s okay. 

Your participation in the messaging and positioning of your business is required. But, you don’t have to do it alone. I designed my program, Perfect-Fit Positioning™, to be a partnership.
